Get ready to drool yall. I have been using Pinterest in a major way lately to cater wedding parties, baby showers, and while on dessert duty. The following are pins that I’ve personally used in my own kitchen. I’ll let you know how they fared, as well as give tips on tweaks that I liked. Have your “pin-it” button ready. You’ll need it.
Chicken Lettuce Wraps.
Do like P.F. Chang’s? Because I do. And I super love their chicken lettuce wraps. I found this recipe a while back and followed it to the T… except for the shredded orange stuff on top…
Dude, these were BOMB.
I am definitely making them again. And again. They’re a lot of work, but sooo worth it.
Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars.
I actually made these last night to take over to my brother’s house for dessert. You may remember him… he just got married...well back in July. This was our first time to visit Bub’s home since he and my new sis-in-law tied the knot. Let me tell you.. these were such a hit. They were soooo delicious. No tweaks, be liberal with the salt.
Tip: press out your second layer of cookie dough on a sheet of waxed paper before putting it down over the caramel. If you don’t have that nice layer of cookie to cover the caramel, you’ll end up having to mix the caramel and cookie layer together to get an even cover… which was actually pretty awesome when I made it that way…
Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cupcakes.
I made these yummy oatmeal-banana-cupcakes yesterday too. I thought the recipe was so great…so simple. And it was! Just follow this recipe as written, or sub the choc chips for blueberries (which I think I’d prefer), and you won’t be disappointed. Riley said they were just ok. I think that they are great warmed up with a dab of butter.
Raspberry Malibu Punch.
I made this pretty pink spiked drink to take to my sister’s bachelorette pajama party. It was awesome. Tasted like the spike wasn’t even in the juice. I guess that could be a bad thing… It’s on my repeat list.
Sausage Cheese Biscuit Balls.
Made these for the bach party also. Cheese. Good. Sausage. Good. I let the men taste test before they took off and left us ladies to do our thing. They approved in a major way.
Need I say more?
I made these amazing Irish Whiskey Mason Jar Cakes for a foodie group that I used to be a part of once. They turned out amazing. I definitely recommend making them. Wouldn’t change a thing. You can see my post on these HERE.
Don’t worry, THE LINK UP is still here…
I have TONS more to share with you all, but this post is soooo long. Click the “read more” button over here on the left to see the rest. You won’t be sorry you did. And don’t forget to link up your posts at the end of it!
Nutella Banana Bread.
This was very yummy. I made it for a Sangria Sunday get together.
Definitely a repeatable party food.
This stuff is dangerous. It’s Nutella and Cream Cheese dip.
And it is, quite possibly, one of the best things on this planet.
Eat with pretzels, fruit…your finger, a spoon….
Rice Crispy Cupcakes.
Very cute, very yummy, very easy.
I like this one because there are so many variations that you use here.
It was a big hit with the kiddos.
I made some homemade pie crust (which is the easiest thing ever) and baked dozens of these things.
They are fantastic. A great little addition to any holiday party.
The worst thing about this recipe is unwrapping all of those kisses. Ugg.
Make the kids do that part.
Sausage Breakfast Muffins.
These were great. I’d recommend adding a little caramelized onions to the mix. Or something.
Because a girlfriend of mine, who also spends some time on Pinterest, made some of these too and brought them to the same Sangria Brunch that I did, and hers had a little something extra…and they were better than mine.
Coca Cola Cake.
Yes it’s good.
My mom’s Texas Sheet Cake is better.
HEALTHY Chocolate Chip “Cookie Dough” Dip.
Yes, you read right. Healthy.
This dip is made with chickpeas. Read: garbanzo beans.
I made this, gave it to my family (without telling them what it was) and they devoured it.
I made it again, took it to a BBQ- and didn’t tell them what it was- people went crazy over it. They couldn’t believe that it was made with chickpeas.
Cauliflower Pizza Crust.
This stuff is delicious.
I’ve made is a handful of times. It’s not necessarily a healthy alternative, since you use so much cheese to bind the veggie together. But…it is a nice way to cut some of that
wonderful nasty flour out of your diet…a gluten free option, or a way to sneak more veggies into your kiddos’ mouths.
Chick-fil-a Nugget Knock-offs.
Yah… nothing compares to the real deal.
This just didn’t work out for me.
Chocolate Chip Oreo Brownies.
Yes, it is every bit as wonderful and terrible as it looks.
I made this for a huge military spouses get together. People loved it. They went back for seconds.
There were no left overs.
But your muffin top won’t thank you in the morning.
By now, you might have put together the fact that my friends and I do a lot of foodie group get togethers and Sangria Sunday brunches. This refreshing twist on Sangria was my contribution to a very fun Miss America-Mary Kay Sangria Saturday that we held. I’d definitely make this recipe again. It was wonderful.
Dijon Cocktail Sandwiches.
I love these. Wish I had some in my mouth right now.
I like to use Hawaiian King Rolls when I make these…like I did for the Miss America contest. But now, on the mainland, they are way too expensive.
So I used some honey wheat dinner rolls instead when I made them for my sister’s bachelorette P.J. party.
This is my little Pinterest contribution.
It is awesome. You should check it out.
The breakfast casserole.
Yah…. I made this for Christmas morning breakfast last year. It was… ok… it was gross. I don’t know what I did wrong. Because my sister in law made it a few weeks ago, and it was SO FREAKING GOOD.
I don’t know what to tell you here… maybe I should take a whack at it again.
Yah.. you don’t eat this.
But it’s pretty. And it held those rice krispy cupcakes very well.
Easy to make. The kids love it. Definite must do.
Ice Cream Cone S’mores.
Awesome idea. Not so awesome execution. These were a great idea. But didn’t work out so well. I’d also recommend using LESS butterscotch chips.
Cute idea. Waste of time. Honestly.
Cupcakes are so much easier and time-smart. This recipe wasn’t very tasty and the effort put forth didn’t really pay off. Sad face.
